I've been distracted for the past couple of months. There was Christmas, recovering from Christmas, an unscheduled trip to Phoenix to help my sister and helping my friend with her son while she prepared to move.
One thing I'm proud of is that I did not gain weight through the holidays. That is a victory of sorts. But now it is time to get serious. I've been tracking my food intake through MyFitnessPal so that I have an idea of how many calories I'm consuming and what the breakdown of fat, protein and carbohydrates is. That's the reason I haven't posted my diet here.
Just by tracking my intake I've lost weight. It has made me aware of what I eat. That, combined with embarrassment about having to admit what I consume (even if just to a computer program), has prompted me to make better choices about what I put into my body.
Just by this one change I've lost a few pounds. It's hard to tell because my weight can fluctuate around five pounds daily. This small step toward my goal gives me hope that I can achieve the whole thing.
